Life Happens

The arrogance of youth is not a new concept.

Every generation comes of age with a hopeful idealistic fervor that makes them feel optimistic and invincible...without any awareness that there are unforeseen consequences to their choices or decisions.

But then through time and direct experience…life happens…and reality sets in.

The young person is given a choice: get angry, sell-out, or adapt.

1) Anger. Many people choose to become angry and frustrated when a square peg will not fit into a round hole. Or as Albert Einstein once described, “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

2) Sell-out. Others choose to compromise their integrity & principles in exchange for personal gain....rather than follow the original path he/she laid out for him/herself before life happened.

3) Adapt. Or another way of saying "grow-up" or "evolve." John Maynard Keynes has a great quote on this subject: When accused of being inconsistent, Mr. Keynes said, "Well, when I get new information I change my position. What, sir, do you do with new information?"

The choice is ultimately theirs.
